School Policies

Open Door Policy
Although our doors remain locked throughout the day, visitors may enter at our main entrance, sign in at the office, and receive a visitor pass. If you would like to meet with your child’s teacher, we ask that you schedule an appointment at least 24 hours  in advance.

School Hours
Doors open – 7:40 am
Tardy Bell – 8:00 am
Dismissal – 3:05 pm (all students will dismiss at 3:05 p.m.)

Please use designated Carpool Lane (Windsor Rd.) for student drop off/pick up. Students dropped off at front entrance (Old Well Rd.) must be accompanied by an adult to the front doors. As a part of our Open Door Policy, if your child is tardy you may not escort her/him to class. Thank you for helping us maintain a high level of safety for our students.

All students are issued an iPad.  This iPad is the property of Lenoir County Public Schools, and all students are required to comply with all iPad and Technology policies in order to retain their iPad privileges.  Failure to follow these policies may result in short or long term revocation of the iPad, disciplinary action, and/or monetary fines.

Change In Transportation
If there is a change in your child’s after school transportation you must send a note with your child or call the school so that the appropriate staff can be notified. Students will not be allowed to change their after school transportation without proper notification.  Please ensure that notes and calls are delivered as early in the day as possible to ensure your child’s transportation is changed appropriately.

Dress Code Policy
Northwest Elementary does require all students and staff to meet the district-wide dress code. The Dress Code Policy can be located HERE.
